Our Products Are 100% Certified Organic
Our production facility and all of our organic products are certified organic by the "Centre For Systems Integration" and have been since 2017. At Farmstead Organics we take the production of high-quality organic feed seriously which is why we use exclusively viable and nutritious ingredients.
Organic vs Non-GMO
In addition to our top-of-the-line certified organic feeds, we also offer high-quality non-GMO feeds. What's the difference? Which one is right for me and my animals? These are common questions and we'd love to help give you the answers!
Organic
Organic refers to the way agricultural products are grown and processed; organic food is produced using environmentally and animal friendly farming methods. Organic certification lets consumers know that every step along the supply chain has protected and maintained the organic integrity of the product.
In Canada, this system is governed by government organic standards and regulations, and applies to both domestic and imported products. Canada’s organic standards are among the most recognized in the world, and place strict limits and prohibitions on the use of toxic and persistent pesticides; synthetic fertilizers; the routine use of drugs, antibiotics or synthetic hormones; animal cloning; genetic engineering (“GMOs”); sewage sludge; and irradiation.
Guided by these and other standards, organic is now the most heavily regulated and scrutinized food system in Canada, allowing you to help our environment while also choosing great-tasting, healthy food for you and your family.
Non-GMO
Non-GMO or non-genetically modified products are foods and other products derived from organisms whose genetic material (DNA) has NOT been modified in a way that does not occur naturally.
It is important to note that all products that are certified organic are also non-GMO, however, products that are non-GMO are not organic. Because of the less stringent conditions needed to produce non-GMO products, they tend to be slightly cheaper than their organic counterparts. For those looking to feed their animals on a budget and who don't need the certified organic label, our high-quality non-GMO feeds may be right for you!
